Course Description | The ‘Advanced Based programs for individual clients’ skills cluster is a hands-on taster of the SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness which provides you with the knowledge and skills to enjoy an active role and career as a Gym Instructor. The units of assessments will provide you with the skills to tailor client assessments, assist gym members with correct technique and equipment usage, and develop/demonstrate fitness programs. |
Pathways | This Fitness Cluster provides a direct pathway to the SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness and the SIS40221 Certificate IV in Fitness. |
Delivery Location(s) | Glenunga International High School, 99 L'Estrange Street, Glenunga, SA, 5064 The Lights Community and Sports Centre, 244 – 270 East Parkway, Lights View, SA, 5085 Most of the classes will be at Glenunga International High School. Practical Industry visits/ sessions will be completed at Pushing Performance, The Lights Community and Sports Centre, 244 – 270 East Parkway Lights View. |
Dates and Times | 16 weekly sessions at Glenunga International High School on Wednesdays from 08:45 until 12:45. Commencement date 07/02/24. 4 weekly sessions at The Lights Community and Sports Centre on Wednesdays from 08:30 until 16:00. Commencement date 14/06/24. Actual dates for 4 industry visits are still to be confirmed. There will be two per term. The course will be run over 20 weeks.
There will be an additional 25 hours self paced online study. No classes will be run in the school holidays. |
Work Placement | 1 days A minimum of 6.5 work placement hours included in delivery at The Lights Community and Sports Centre, Lightsview. |

Cost Notes | In addition to the course cost, an administration fee will apply as follows:
Non-EASVA member government school $100 per enrolment, Non-EASVA member Non-government school $200 per enrolment. (refer to member school tab for list of EASVA schools). |

Selection Process | Students may be required to complete a secondary application form or interview as part of the enrolment process. |
Public Transport | Take Bus 100 Circle Line along Portrush Road to Stop 13, then walk west down Queen Street (approx.500m) to the school. If travelling along Glen Osmond Road (Bus 161, 166 and others), get off at Stop 8 and walk along Conyngham Street (approx. 200m) to the school. |
